The City of Tavares Youth Soccer League is a recreational soccer program that is geared towards the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the high level of competition. Tavares Soccer League is focused on providing an opportunity for all participants of all skills and abilities to have fun, learn the rules of the game and develop skills - including a lifelong love of the game. The guiding principles of this program are of fun, healthy exercise and learning!

The Tavares Youth Soccer League is offered for ages 3-14 years old. All league play will take place at the Golden Triangle Regional Park - East Campus located at 1465 David Walker Drive, Tavares, FL 32778.

Tiny Tots (Ages 3-4): Registration Open

Format: Instructor lead with parent involvement - Stations to learn the basics - Final week will be a scrimmage

Tiny Tots is a developmentally appropriate introductory soccer program for children ages 3-4 years old. Tiny Tots prepares children for organized soccer in a fun, non-threatening environment. This program is geared towards teaching the fundamentals of soccer including kicking, dribbling, trapping, throw ins and agility while preparing children to progress into the Little kickers program. 

Little Kickers (Ages 4-5): Registration Open

Format: 4v4 - Games: 2 x 10 min periods - 20 minute practice before games

Little Kickers is the next level of play after Tiny Tots (formerly Start Smart Soccer) which provides a little more structure and develops game play. Teams will consist of 8 players that play against other Little Kicker teams within Tavares Soccer League. Little Kickers is ideal for those kids that are more experienced in the game or have done Tiny Tots already and have shown improvement over the 6-week program. Volunteer coach will be on the field to help organize the game.

Future Stars (Ages 5-6): Registration Open

Format: 4v4 - Games: 3 x 10 min periods - 20 minute practice before games

Future Stars is similar to Little Kickers but geared towards players of the next age level and experience. Teams will consist of 8 players that play against other Future Star teams within Tavares Soccer League. Volunteer coaches will proceed the same as Little Kickers but start with a 20 minute practice leading into a 4v4 game one time per week. Volunteer coach will be on the field to help organize the game.

Instructional (Ages 7-8): Registration Open

Format: 7v7 - Games: 3 x 15 periods - 1-hour practice & 1 game a week

This division is focused on a fun instructional environment for players in the first and second grade. The league at this level will be divided into both a boy and girls' group that will have one weeknight practice each week and a Saturday morning soccer game against other Instructional teams within Tavares Soccer League. Players will be organized into teams of 10-13 players each, playing a 7v7 format including a goalkeeper. The coaches will help manage the game. Practices will be held either Tuesday or Thursday nights which will be decided by the volunteer coaches. Practice will be held at the Golden Triangle Regional Park - East Campus (behind the YMCA building) on the back fields once weekly.

Juniors (Ages 9-11): Registration Open

Format: 9v9 - Games: 2 x 25 min halves - 1-hour practice & 1 game a week

This division is the first time that the coaches are not on the field with their team during games and begins to emphasize a player-driven game of soccer. The league at this level is divided into both a boy and girls' group that play against other Junior teams within Tavares Soccer League. Players will be organized into teams of 12-15 players each, playing a 9v9 format including a goalkeeper. Practices will be held on either Tuesday or Thursday nights which will be decided by volunteer coaches. Practice will be held one night weekly and then games will be held Saturday mornings or early afternoons. 

Seniors (Ages 12 - 14): Registration Open

Format: 11v11 - Games: 2 x 30 min halves - 1-hour practice (twice weekly) & 1 game a week

This division is an opportunity to play in a fun and friendly competitive soccer environment. The league at this level is divided into both boy and girls' groups that play against other Senior Teams within the Tavares Soccer League or surrounding towns. Players will be organized into teams of 15 players each, playing an 11v11 format including a goalkeeper. Practices will be held twice weekly and then games will be played Friday nights, Saturday mornings or early afternoons.
