The City of Tavares Public Library Advisory Board was created to govern, regulate and encourage organized activities of the library operated by the City, per Code 1974, § 31.001; Ord. No. 88-20, § 31.001, 4-6-88
The Board consists of seven volunteers appointed by the mayor and approved by the City Council. The terms are for two years and 2 positions do not require residency.
The present members of the Library Board are:

Charles Fox, Vice-President
Mary Ellen Drees
Lurlene J. Lawton
Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 2:30 pm in the Tavares Library Conference Room, 314 N. New Hampshire Avenue. These meetings are open to the general public. The Library Advisory Board will recess for the summer June and July.
The next meeting of the Library Advisory Board is on Wednesday, August 17, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. in the TRA Room, 100 E. Caroline Street. Physical distancing protocols will be observed.
