Uniform Patrol
The uniform patrol division is the backbone of the department. These officers work 24 hours a day providing a variety of police services. The uniform patrol division consists of up to 22 sworn officers, patrolling the city.
Effective in 2007, the traffic enforcement unit will be a fundamental part of the uniforma patrol division. This unit will handle traffic enforcement as well as accident investigation. This will free up other officers to answer other police calls.
The officers in the uniform patrol division answer calls for service, conduct property checks and assist other units within the police department.
The increase of authorized officers in the 2006-2007 budget will dramatically help the department and its citizens.
The city is divided into three patrol zones. Officers will be assigned to these zones.
