The City of Tavares Public Library Advisory Board was created to govern, regulate and encourage organized activities of the library system operated by the City, per Code 1974, § 31.001; Ord. No. 88-20, § 31.001, 4-6-88
The Board consists of seven volunteers to be appointed by the mayor and approved by the City Council. The terms are for two years and 2 positions do not require residency.
The present members of the Library Board are:
- Charles Fox, President
- Martha Wilkins, Vice-President
- Mary Ellen Drees
- Judy Eaton
- Linda Clutts
- June Sheppard
- Duane Dement
Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 2:30 pm in the Tavares Library Conference Room, 314 N. New Hampshire Avenue. These meetings are open to the public.
